I find it fascinating that as I grow older, I can juggle so many things at once and stay more relaxed about failures. But it’s also frustrating — the more I manage to pack into a day, the faster it seems to fly by… and before I know it, weeks and even years slip away..
I can totally relate. We are influenced “to be busy” because if you are not busy what do you even do?! This goes to extremes if you work in corporates. However I do believe that Healthy productivity is not about doing more at less time, but doing more of what really matters TO YOU at a point of time.
For practical planning tools there is a great book called The 12 Week Year. It helps you to get clear what’s really important, set goals accordingly and track the progress.
Another great exercise is to document daily or weekly 3-5 things you achieved this day/week. It also does wonders in building confidence and self-esteem. It could be as simple as - I went to sleep on time or I drank 2 litters of water, to more meaningful things like I had conversation I’ve been putting away for long time, or I spoke up at the meeting. It takes 1-2 min to do this, but it helps to seize the moment and recognise the progress we are making.
This gives me an idea to write about productivity of female terms, where cycle will play a big role as well.
